Complex PTSD
Trauma Therapy for Complex PTSD and Dissociation
Service Description
If you’re living with complex PTSD, you’ve likely carried a lot for a long time. You might feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You may experience dissociation—feeling numb, spaced out, or cut off from your body or emotions—as a way your system has learned to survive. You’re not alone in any of this. I specialize in working with trauma and its many effects, including complex symptoms like dissociation, as well as challenges often linked to trauma such as dissociative identity disorder (DID) and borderline personality disorder (BPD). My approach offers deep, relational therapy that supports healing, nervous system regulation, and reconnection with your true self. I integrate Somatic Experiencing®, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Parts Work, and EMDR, carefully woven to honor how trauma lives uniquely in your body and mind. Together, we’ll explore the survival strategies your system has used—like dissociation, hypervigilance, avoidance patterns, people pleasing, negative self-talk, etc, that were developed as an adaptive way to cope with what was happening at the time, and may no longer be adaptive to the life you lead today. I will meet these strategies and parts of you with deep respect and care. These patterns make sense given your history, and they can begin to shift when met with safety and understanding. At the heart of this work is the relationship we build. For many with complex or developmental trauma, trust has been deeply wounded. Therapy can offer a different kind of connection—one grounded in attunement, presence, and compassion. There’s no single path to healing, and together we can learn what your individual system responds to, how you are organized, and how to best support you as an individual. I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you at a pace that feels right, honoring your strengths, your capacity, and your nervous system every step of the way. If you're looking for therapy for CPTSD in California or Montana, I’m here to help. Contact me today to schedule a free 15-minute consultation and see if we're a good fit.
